It has been a hot minute since my last blog post. March 31, 2013.
Fast forward 7 whole years and here I am, stuck in a house with the family the pets working from home waiting for my groceries to be delivered and wondering where in the world is Carmin Sandiego?
...no, no, where in the world are we headed? What will the future be like for my kids?
The novel Corona Virus Disease 2019, or coronavirus, or COVID19 is taking a toll on the world. It's changing how we work, play, communicate, celebrate and give back. I "think" it's making us more aware, compassionate, sharing and community-focused. (Except for that big orange cheeto fuck-nut and his merry band of fruit cakes. Yo, Don-Don, it's called science. Or did you have a bone spur during that class? 😜 )
Where was I...
ah, yes....I have no idea what tomorrow brings. For today, a whole 20 days into this COVID state of emergency for Nova Scotia, we still have jobs and our health. Others were not so fortunate and had a sharp turn to unemployment or positive diagnosis and I know that could be us any old day soon. So, I'm being extra frugal, cooking cheap, enjoying more board games with the family and for the most part living in the moment until we get out the back end of this pandemic.
Life has taken on a minimal and simple flow. So far, it's not too bad. Except for the snax. Oh, the snacking...ugh.
I'm going to start blogging again. Share some recipes and ideas and lean on you for inspiration and motivation, too. :)
I'm putting on my imaginary Hulk Smash gloves, going to cook, prep, exercise, share, save and make the best of it.
Kindest Regards, Leslie
